An extremely long day of trekking (finishing by headlamp) was the most exciting, with a gorgeous sunrise over Annapurna South, a path full of langur monkeys and even the reported sighting of a baby baalu (bear) on a bridge. Fortunately, if the bear existed, it was long gone by the time we got there, but watching our guide and porters arming themselves with bamboo sticks and trekking poles gave us a lot of laughs along the way.
