The food here has been wonderful, especially the fruit: pineapple, bananas (lady fingers), watermelon, mango, papaya, dragon fruit, jackfruit, longan (above), lychee and pomelo to name a few. Today we visited a fishing village on the Andaman Sea that was heavily damaged by the 2004 tsunami. We shared a lovely meal prepared by some of the village ladies, who also taught us how to make Khanom Jark (a mixture of fresh coconut, palm sugar and sticky rice flour that is wrapped in palm leaves and grilled). Yum!
