It's a bit surreal to stand on the beach looking out over the Andaman Sea and imagine the water receding for miles and then returning as a 50-ft wave racing towards the shore at 500 mph. These fishing boats (but not the cow) in Takua Pa were carried over 2 km from the sea onto land.
